Welcome! I'm Lisa Hughes and I'm so glad you're here! Whether you were looking for me on the internet or not, now that you're here, it's my hope you'll find encouragement from God's Word as you peruse my site. Here you'll find devotions to strengthen your walk with the Lord, Bible studies to deepen your faith and increase your love for Christ, links to messages I've given for conferences and retreats, and anything else I can think of to bless you!
I love God's Word, don't you? I love studying it; I love teaching it; I love talking about it and meditating on it, not just as an end in itself, but because it gives me a better understanding of God, His ways, and His wondrous love. We change when we know and understand those truths. Our lives are different when we gain an accurate picture of God and our dear Savior, Jesus Christ.
That's why I want to keep pointing you back to the Scriptures. The Word of God has power to change our lives. Oh my! How I love that thought! And I know this, if you love the Lord Jesus Christ and have placed all your hope in Him for salvation, then you love those truths too. I know you desire to spend time with the Lord in His Word. I know you want to honor Him daily and give Him glory with your life. I know you want be different and live different so the world will wonder at that difference. Yet, life gets busy, trials come, sin entangles us; we need help and hope. At least I do and I don't think I'm much different than anyone else. Thankfully, that help, that hope, comes from the Scriptures.
If you don't know Jesus Christ as your Savior yet, keep coming back here and make sure you start reading the Bible if you haven't begun doing so. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to your sin and your need for Him and the salvation that can only come through Jesus Christ. The Lord will take away the burden of your sin and hopelessness and will replace it with Jesus' perfect righteousness and hope of seeing Him someday in Heaven. The Lord always answers the prayers of those who seek Him!
So, let's dig into the Word together and glean the treasures He has hidden there!
Much grace and peace to you,
